Captain Beefheart & THe Magic Band Hollywood California Sometimes between end of February and end of May 1972 Not the best sounding gig but it's rare stuff. Are there more than 4 people with this tape in their collection? Ok, after doing some sound improvement with Wavelab the sound is not so bad at all for a 1972 gig. Details like Don's whistling or his comments can now be heard. The taper was late, the first tracks of the gig are missing. As usual in 1972 you can hear some interesting improvisation at the end of the gig. The date and the venue are a bit of a mystery. My assumption is a date in March 1972 when the band was back home from another US tour. Theories and facts about time and place are very welcome!
