 notes about the recording . . . The sound here ranges from Excellent to Very Good.
. . . . the first couple of minutes find the sound shifting around a bit before it settles. I think the taper may have moved the mics or recording device as the second half of the show sounds a bit different than the first. There is a bit of interference on trk. 10
( no music just talking ) and the left channel drops for a few seconds during the band version of Owed T' Alex. That about sums it up. All that said, this is a great show and a joy to listen to.

 A Very cool show with a pretty sweet set-list and as far as Beefheart shows go, a pretty good amount of horn solos ! Denny and Jeff work well together and overall the guitar playing on this show is just great. Also features drummer Gary Jaye who did not play many live shows with the band. His drumming gives the songs a different kind of vibe/energy.
It works very well. Gary and Don even perform a dual solo / freakout late in the set.
Many stand out versions on here . . China Pig, Low Yo Yo Stuff, Big Joan, On Tomorrow,
to name a few. All of them are just rippin'. Another show with a very attentive and quiet crowd. Nice. . . . the version of Bat Chain Puller is also pretty sweet, a bit different than most versions on live tapes. I really like the 76/77 era shows and ( for my tastes )this is among the best of them. Enjoy.
